Online courses at UC Berkeley are not computer-based training. You learn from College of Engineering instructors and actively engage with other students, instructors, and graduate student instructors (GSIs). Online lectures include a combination of audio, text, graphics, video, and integrated-interactive discussion.

You can access courses at any time, from anywhere, and are thus able to

incorporate your learning into your work and family responsibilities. As long as you have an Internet connection, you can study the course materials and navigate through multimedia lectures to stop, jump ahead, go back, or listen again to any part you wish.

The online learning experience is primarily asynchronous with optional scheduled synchronous learning events and office hours.
